Holly´s Heart star[offsite link]
Holly sent this scan to me and asked, "Can this be adapted to split rings?" After one look at all the loose ends hanging about, I replied "YES!" Since Valentine´s Day was nearly upon us, I then put out a call for a helper to tat a new model. Lily Morales came to the rescue. So Lily and I redesigned the heart for us to study here in class.

Old Glory Heart - Nell Corns star[offsite link]
This lovely heart by Nancy "Nell" Corns is in red, white and blue and was designed shortly after the American tragedy on September 11th 2001. Using split rings and beads the design is both unusual and imaginative. Lost in cyberspace but saved by the wayback machine! www.archive.org

Pearl Heart star[offsite link]
This is an advanced piece by Mark Myers, which uses needleweaving through the picots of a pearl tatted chain to make the heart. Instructions are minimal but it´s worth it.

Split Ring Pineapple Heart star[offsite link]
This heart is not easy with a photo but is well worth attempting. Pattern rescued by the wayback machine.

Tatterly´s Heart star[offsite link]
Tatterly´s Heart is a design by Dianna Stevens, who is well known for her designs in beaded tatting and needle tatting. In this pattern, neither is used but the technique of climbing from one section into another with Split Rings is discussed with detailed diagrams. Pattern rescued by the wayback machine.

Two Hearts as One star[offsite link]
Martha Ess´ Celtic Heart is quite complicated but well worth attempting.
