About the BellaOnline Luxury Travel Editor
Barbara Radcliffe Rogers

Luxury Travel
Travel is my passion and my livelihood. I love to visit new places and revisit old ones, whether they are halfway around the world or in the next town. And unlike many travel writers -- who enjoy the travel but hate sitting down at the keyboard to write – I love telling readers about the places I have been. I like the idea that they can have a better trip because I’ve been there first and kissed all the frogs, so they can go straight to the handsome prince.

Along with hundreds of magazine and newspaper articles, I have authored or co-authored more than 30 travel books, mostly guidebooks. These cover my native New England and Eastern US and Canada, as well as southern Europe, where I once lived and return several times each year.

So where does the luxury come in? Like you, I like to pamper myself with the best experiences I can afford. I love to stay in Italian villas, sample the creative genius of top American chefs, restore my balance in spas, look out my hotel room window at the best view of the Matterhorn, watch the opera from box seats, dance in the ballroom and stop to smell all the best roses. Most of all, I think everyone can travel in some luxury while still keeping within their budget.

Those readers who love Italy, Spain and Portugal as I do, may want to read my articles on the Southern Europe Travel page at Suite101.com.
